Donetsk Defense: Situation Report, 31.05.2016

The situation in the Donetsk People’s Republic is relatively stable.

Over the past day the Ukrainian military shelled the territory of the Republic 114 times. The enemy launched 71 shell of 120mm and 82mm calibre. In addition, the fire was launched from infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, grenade launchers of various types and small arms.

The Ukrainian military opened fire at the following localities: Zaitsevo, Yasinovataya, Spartak, Vesyoloye, Dokuchayevsk, Staromikhailovka, Zhabichevo, the area of the airport and the Petrovsky district of Donetsk city.

All the data on the Minsk Agreements violations were passed to the representatives of the OSCE and JCCC.

Our intelligence continues registering the amassing of the enemy's prohibited weapons and personnel along the contact line:

- In Verkhnetoretskoye (4 km away from the contact line) there were detected two tanks;

- In Stepnoye (7 km away from the contact line) there was detected a concentration of motorised artillery mounts, tanks and armoured personnel carriers;

- From the locality of Selidovo across Novosyolovka-Pervaya in the Donetsk direction there was detected movement of a column of equipment comprising tanks, armoured personnel carriers-80, infantry fighting vehicles-3, MTLB with anti-aircraft installation-23-2, anti-aircraft missile system ‘Osa’, automotive equipment with 100mm antitank cannons MT-12 ‘Rapira’, 122mm towed howitzers D-30 and 120mm mortars;

- In Avdeyevka in the zone of responsibility of the 16th separate motorised infantry battalion of the 58th separate motorised infantry brigade there was detected deployment of a reconnaissance unit from the 74th separate reconnaissance battalion, and also the work of the sappers from the joint detachment of the 703rd separate combat support regiment.

Besides, we detected the enemy’s drones flying in the following areas:

Ozeryanovka, Dolomitnoye, Rtutny, Zaitsevo;

Granitnoye – Krasny Oktyabr – Solntsevo;

Starognatovka – Petrovsky – Styla;

Novalaspa – Petrovsky – Dokuchayevsk;

Komsomolskoye – Razdolnoye.

Activity of the Ukrainian military in the ‘ATO’ zone shows preparation for large-scale provocations. All the data about violations of the Minsk Agreements and the preparing provocations were passed to the representatives of the JCCC and OSCE Mission.

Our intelligence continues reporting not combat losses in the AFU units. In particular, because of mistakes of the commander of the 58th separate motorised infantry brigade in the 13th battalion five Ukrainian soldiers died over the past day. The shelling of the 13th battalion 58 of separate motorised infantry brigade of the AFU from the positions of the 16th battalion of the same brigade caused the fighters’ death. In the 16th battalion there are more than ten dead and wounded personnel as a result of the reciprocal actions of the 13th battalion.

At present in Ukraine there is being actively formed mass resistance to the operating corrupted authorities. Examples are the events connected with peaceful protests of the Ukrainians on May 2 and on the Victory Day. All these protests, unfortunately, remain the unnoticed by state mass media in Ukraine.

Personally I liked the attempts of resistance to the Ukrainian authorities in the Internet network as well. In particular, the known Ukrainian volunteer organization SPRUT has published more than one video address to their people on the official sites of Ukraine. However, the authorities’ fear of the truth forces the media to ignore progress of the Ukrainian volunteers. For example, a week ago hackers of the Ukrainian organization Sprut cracked three state websites where they shared the lists of the children of Donbass killed by the AFU military personnel. The event has been timed to the International Children's Day. In this video there are names and photos of the Ukrainian military who are responsible for the death of Donbass children. Such actions of the Ukrainians on the territory of Ukraine inspire only my admiration! Especially amid the prompt falling of popularity of all acting Ukrainian leaders. I hope that such actions will unite the Ukrainians who are tired already of the politicians’ aggressive plans, and will force the Kiev authorities to refuse the continuation of the war in Donbass.
